KENOSHA, Wis.- The Greyhound women's cross country team was 16th while the men placed 18th in their race at the Lucian Rosa Invitational, hosted on the campus of Wisconsin-Parkside Saturday. The highlight for UIndy came in the women's race, where freshman Amy Hamilton etched a 18:38 time in the 5K race and finished seventh among the 316 female participants.
Hamilton had the second-fastest time among freshmen, crossing just 33 seconds behind Ferris State's Tina Muir, who took fourth. Lindsay Houvner ran the course in 20:32, and was 94th individually. Kaitlin Boester was 108th, eight seconds behind Houvner. Bethany Schroeder was 111th in the race while Stephanie Kennedy and Lindsey Sitzman were 145th and 146th, respectively.
On the men's side, senior Adam Settle posted the top UIndy time, crossing the 8k finish line in 27:26. Derek Speer was 88th, Michael Landy 113th, Brandon McGloshen 154th and Andrew Piropato rounded out the scoring for the Greyhounds, taking 213th among 283 individuals.
The meet provided the final tuneup for the teams in preparation for the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships in two week in Rolla, Mo.
