Volleyball: The Greyhounds nearly pulled off the upset, but fell just shy in the semifinal round of the NCAA Midwest Regional this past weekend.  The Hounds dispatched Northern Michigan, 3-2, in the opener then grabbed a quick 1-0 lead over host #3 Grand Valley State Saturday.  The Lakers were able to overcome and won in four sets en route to the regional championship.  A pair of Greyhounds were named to the All-tournament team, setter Beth Robbins and libero Kyleigh Turner.  Those two joined hitter Lyndsay Callahan on the Daktronics All-Midwest Region First Team, announced Monday.  All three will advance to the All-America ballot.  UIndy finished the season with a 29-10 record and made its second straight NCAA appearance and third in six years.

Women's Basketball: Sophomore forward Samantha Meissel's 19 second-half points helped UIndy erase an 11-point deficit in a 68-62 win over Tiffin at Nicoson Hall Saturday.  The win pushed UIndy's record to a flawless 7-0 heading into this weekend's Thanksgiving Classic, set for Friday and Saturday on campus.  The Greyhounds match-up with Grace College in Friday's 5:30 pm affair before an in-region showdown with Hillsdale on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

Men's Basketball: A feisty Hillsdale squad posted a 75-55 win last Saturday at Nicoson Hall.  The Greyhounds were unable to shake-off a sluggish start and never found a groove offensively as the Chargers recorded their second in-region win in as many attempts last week.  UIndy's schedule gets no easier as the team travels to defending-regional champion and nationally-ranked Grand Valley State Saturday.  The Hounds will then return home for a battle with fourth-ranked Northern Kentucky to open the conference slate, Dec. 4.

Swimming and Diving:  The Greyhounds men's swimming team battled Purdue University in a dual meet Friday evening in West Lafayette, Ind., sticking with the Division I Boilermakers, falling by a 152-104 score.  Manuel Stiem ran away with the 200 individual medley, easily etching an NCAA B-standard and missing out on an NCAA "A" cut by four one-hundredths of a second (1:53.43).  Two other swimmers picked-up B-cuts at the meet: Alex Arestis in the 100 freestyle (46.77) and Adam Petro in the 200 butterfly (1:54.30).  UIndy competes next at the IUPUI House of Champions Invitational, a two-day event starting on Dec. 5 at the IU Natatorium downtown.

Wrestling:  The fifth-place finish by junior Matt Irwin in the 141-pound open bracket highlighted the UIndy wrestling team's first meet of the season at the University of Missouri Open, against a Division I-heavy field.  Senior Kevin Flinn had a pair of wins on the day and Jimmy Nichols added a win in the main bracket.  In the freshman and sophomore division, J.T. Jenkins led the way, taking second place in the 174 bracket. Jenkins earned two wins before losing in the championship bout, 10-7. UIndy returns to the mat in just less than two weeks, with the squad participating in the annual Indiana Little State meet. This year's Little State will be held Dec. 5-6 at Wabash College.
