Box Score

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- In a battle of two of the best women's soccer teams in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, Quincy came away with a 1-0 decision over Indianapolis on a chilly Sunday afternoon at Key Stadium.

Both squads were unable to get on the scoreboard in the first half of play as Greyhounds held a 5-3 shot advantage.  Both keepers made key saves for their teams to keep the game scoreless after 45 minutes of play.

The Lady Hawks (10-4-0, 8-2-0 GLVC) netted the game-winning goal in the 61st minute when Erin Conroy collected a loose ball inside the box and slipped it past UIndy netminder Shae Morris.

The Greyhounds' best chance at an equalizer came in the 84th minute when a cross to the foot of Amanda Reese in front of the Quincy goal was turned away by Lady Hawk keeper Toni Eye to preseve the win for the visitors.

Morris tallied five saves in goal for Indianapolis, while Reese led the Hounds offensively with three shots, two of them being on goal.  Ashley Seehase and Chaunell Abrams each fired a pair of shots for UIndy in the loss.

The defeat drops the Greyhounds to 11-3-0 in the season and 8-2-0 in GLVC contests.  Indianapolis will return to action on Friday when they travel to Rockhurst for a 6:00 PM matchup.
