SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- After clinching a Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament birth with a win over Rockhurst on Friday, the UIndy women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 defeat at Drury on Sunday afternoon.
Neither team could muster a goal in the first 45 minutes of action as the Panthers outshot the Greyhounds 8-6. However, five of six Indianapolis shots were on goal, compared to just three of eight for Drury.
The Panthers (12-4-0, 9-3 GLVC) manged the first goal of the match in the 57th minute on a Sarah Goodman penalty kick after a foul inside the UIndy box.
Drury extended their lead to 2-0 when Katie Pritchard connected from 12 yards out in the 75th minute on one of 11 Panther shots in the second half.
Goodman struck again in the 83rd minute, putting another penalty kick past Greyhound keeper
Shae Morris to push the Panther lead to 3-0, which would be the final tally.
Morris turned away five shots on the afternoon in the loss, with three of them coming in the first half.
Lauren Soza led the offensive attack for Indianapolis firing three shots with all of them being on goal.
Jessie Sanderson earned the shutout between the posts for the Panthers, stopping all six Greyhound shots she faced.
After the loss, UIndy falls to 12-4 on the season and 9-3 in GLVC play and will return to the pitch on Friday when they host Missouri S&T in a 5:00 PM matchup at Key Stadium.
