INDIANAPOLIS-  The UIndy men's tennis team dropped a pair of non-Division II matches this weekend, falling 6-3 at Taylor Saturday and 7-0 at IUPUI on Sunday. Matt Smith and Jeff Price won both of their doubles matches at the top position.

Taylor 6, UIndy 3

Smith and Price earned an 8-6 win in doubles to give the Hounds their lone point in doubles play.  A pair of freshmen got their first collegiate singles wins when Alex Poe beat Luke Tilden at No. 3 (6-1, 7-5) and Steffen Good outlasted Steve Erny at No. 5 (5-7, 7-5, 11-9).

IUPUI 7, UIndy 0
Matt Smith and Jeff Price scored the lone UIndy win, beating IUPUI's Deon Shafer and Nick Volz 8-4 at No. 1 doubles.  The Jags won the other two doubles matches, taking the doubles team point in a match that scored doubles as one point.

Taylor Broda made his opponent work for a win at top singles, pushing Shafer to a 7-6 (1), 7-6 (3) decision.  Smith battled Danile Klingenberg at No. 2, pushing the score to 7-6, 6-2.  The Jaguars claimed straight-set wins at each of the last four singles spots to post the 7-0 victory.

UIndy (0-2 overall) will play a pair of regional road matches next week, traveling to Ohio Dominican Saturday and Tiffin Sunday.
