INDIANAPOLIS- After coming one win shy of a College World Series appearance in 2009, the University of Indianapolis baseball team heads into 2010 ranked 15th in the NCAA Division II Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Preseason Poll, its highest preseason ranking since 2002.
The Greyhound baseball squad is one of three Great Lakes Valley Conference schools to appear in the top 40 poll. With UIndy's position easily the highest among the conference schools, defending GLVC Tournament-champ Northern Kentucky occupies the No. 28 spot, followed by Southern Indiana at 33.

Indianapolis is coming off a 43-win campaign and an NCAA berth in 2009, advancing to the Midwest Region final. Last year's win total represented the second-highest in program history, bumping head coach
Gary Vaught's career win total to a whopping 678 in 20 seasons as a college coach. UIndy's 2010 season opener is fast approaching as the Hounds head south for a four-game series at West Georgia starting Feb. 12.
