Wrestling goes 1-1 at Mount Saint Joseph's Duals

CINCINNATI- UIndy split a pair of dual meets at Mount Saint Joseph's Tuesday night, falling 22-19 against Notre Dame College and defeating the host school 20-17. The Greyhounds stay at .500 on the dual meet circuit for the year, with a record of 7-7.

UIndy's lightest three wrestlers were perfect on the night, with Jimmy Nichols winning 8-1 and 4-3 at 125, Ethan Harris taking his 133 matches 6-0 and 19-4 and Matt Irwin earning 6-4 and 4-3 wins at 141. Irwin (pictured) took down the NAIA's No.1-ranked wrestler in Notre Dame's Adam Koballa.

Lynn Panko, the Greyhound heavyweight recorded the only other UIndy win that was not a forfeit against the Falcons, an 8-0 decision. Sam Johnson received a win by forfeit in the 197 bout.

In addition to the 125, 133 and 141 matches, UIndy also took wins in the 165, 174 and 197 matchups against the Mount. Jacob Blackwell earned an 8-5 decision at 165, #J.T. Jenkins# took a 9-3 win at 174 and Johnson won 6-4 at 197.

UIndy returns to action this weekend, with the squad splitting up on Saturday. A portion of the Greyhounds will head to the Carson-Newman Invitational, while another group will compete in a dual meet at Findlay.
