INDIANAPOLIS-  For the second straight week and third already this season, UIndy senior Amy Schmitz was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference's Female Field Athlete of the Week, announced Tuesday.  Schmitz set another school record last week, improving her own mark set earlier in the season.

The Bloomington, Ill. native threw a toss of 18.70-meters finishing second at the Hoosier Hills Invite at Indiana University. She leads the conference in the weight throw and ranks third in the shot put. She ranks third on the national performance list as well and has already automatically-qualified for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships, set for Mar. 13-14 in Houston, Tex.

Indianapolis will be competing at the Anderson Raven Invite this week to prepare for the GLVC Indoor Championship.
