WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. – The University of Indianapolis women's golf team faced its second consecutive national championship-caliber field at the 34th annual Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational at Tuscawilla Country Club Monday and Tuesday.  The Greyhounds shot a 956 in the three-round event, good for an eighth place finish among a talented bunch of 14 teams.

Five of Division-II's top ten teams were among the Greyhounds' competition, including second-ranked Nova Southeastern (898), who took the team title by a single stroke over third-ranked and host Rollins College (899).  UIndy carded matching 318s in the first and third rounds to help it jump to eighth place on the final day.

Junior Lyndsay McBride capped a solid tournament with a two-over 74 on Tuesday to finish tied for seventh.  Senior Kristi Piepenbrink played in her first competition of the spring with three sub-80 rounds to share 21st place with a 234.

Junior Sarah Prascsak finished 47th among the 77-golfer field, sophomore Allison Tyler grabbed a share of 59th with a 251, while junior Ashley Seaton tied for 68th with a 260.  Sophomore Darin Pinnick, the Hounds' lone individual competitor, carded a 76 in round one on the way to 239 and a share of 34th place while Nova's Sandra Changkija (71-71-68) easily took medalist's honors with a nine-stroke win.

UIndy travels approximately 100 miles northeast to Citrus Springs, Fla. where another tough challenge awaits at the EKU El Diablo Intercollegiate Thursday, Mar. 12-13.
