PERRY PARK, Ky.- The 12th-ranked University of Indianapolis women's golf team combined for a program record-tying score of 300 to take the team title at the Northern Kentucky Invitational Saturday at Perry Park Golf Course. After Sunday's second round was cancelled due to rain, six players tied at one-over to share the individual medal, including UIndy juniors
Lyndsay McBride and
Sarah Prascsak.
In its third team title of the year, UIndy's 12-over score matched the program record set just last September. This weekend's field featured six ranked teams, with the Hounds finishing one stroke ahead of runner-up and fifth-ranked Grand Valley St. and three shots ahead of the third place squad, No. 8 Ferris State.
McBride's and Prascsak's 18-hole score of 73 marked the first individual title for each woman this year. Senior
Kristi Piepenbrink carded a 76 to tie for 12th, freshman
Darin Pinnick shared 26th with a 78, and sophomore
Allison Tyler shot an 81 to tie for 49th place. Junior
Ashley Seaton competed as an individual among the 116-golfer field and tied for 75th with an 84.
The ladies next travel to Belle Vernon, Pa. for the Vulcan Invitational Apr. 5-6.
