RENSSELAER, Ind.- The Greyhounds' men's tennis squad notched another key in-region win in mid-week action at Saint Joseph's Wednesday evening. The 8-1 UIndy victory against the Pumas pushed the Greyhounds' overall record to 13-9 on the season while SJC drops to 9-12.
UIndy took wins in two of the three doubles matches and swept singles play.
JD Greenlee and
Matt Smith took an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles, and the duo of
Jonathan Hack and
Jeff Price took the No. 3 match 8-1.
Greenlee took his singles match 6-1, 6-3, Hack won his No. 2 match 6-3, 5-0 ret. and No. 3 was taken by Smith 6-1, 6-2.
Werner Henning picked up his first win of the day at No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-4 and Price won 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 5 spot.
Tom Rastall closed out the UIndy sweep with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 6 singles.
The Greyhounds close out their conference slate Sunday morning at 10 at Bellarmine. UIndy will then have one final regular-season test before the GLVC tournament, in GLIAC opponent Tiffin Tuesday in Tiffin, Ohio. The GLVC Tournament, which UIndy has already clinched a spot in, runs Apr. 24-25 at Missouri-St. Louis.
