RENSSELAER, Ind.- Thanks in part to nine scoreless innings from pitcher Cory White, the University of Indianapolis baseball team (29-16, 17-7 GLVC) took two of three at Saint Joseph's (27-15, 11-9) at Gil Hodges Field Saturday .  White picked up both wins UIndy on the day, first by pitching the final two innings of a game continued from yesterday after being suspended due to darkness, followed by a complete-game shutout in game two.

GAME 1
  (10 inn.)
After darkness led to the suspension of yesterday's game, the teams picked up were they left off by starting play in the eighth.  The contest was scheduled to go seven innings, so with the score tied at 5-5, all three frames played Saturday were extra innings.

With the score still knotted at five in the 10th inning, the Hounds hung a three-spot on the host Pumas.  Pinch hitter John Dury crushed a clutch two-out, two-run bomb to left center for the eventual game winner.  UIndy tacked on one more on a Danny Collier double.

After sitting the Pumas own in order in the ninth, White came out for the tenth and walked the leadoff hitter.  The transfer from Rend Lake struck out the next batter and got a much-needed double-play ball to up his record to 7-0.

GAME 2
(7 inn.)
White continued to hold Saint Joseph's scoreless with his second shutout of the year in game two.  He scattered nine hits and struck out six to rack up his fourth complete game and league-leading eighth win.

After UIndy picked up two unearned runs in the first, RBI singles from Andrew Armour and Travis Capps made in 4-0 Greyhounds through five.  Ben Sondgeroth put an exclamation point on the win with a two-run tater in the seventh.

GAME 3  (9 inn.)
With the Hounds down 2-0 in the fourth, Sondgeroth continued his personal onslaught on Puma pitching with his fourth homer of the series.  The all-conference senior led off the frame by depositing a 3-2 offering over the outfield fence to get UIndy on the board.

The Hounds managed little offense after that, however, as a Capps sac fly in the seventh drove in the only other UIndy run.

Meanwhile, SJC plated six runs in all with two-run outputs in the second, fifth and sixth innings.  Five of the runs were earned and all were charged to starter Andrew Werner, who finished with seven Ks and one walk in six innings pitched.

UIndy has a non-conference road match-up with former GLVC-member Southern Illinois Edwardsville Thursday.  First pitch from Roy E. Lee Field is scheduled for 4 p.m. Eastern.
