INDIANAPOLIS- Four Greyhounds registered top-ten performances to help the UIndy women's golf team to a runner-up finish at The Battle at the Brickyard Saturday and Sunday.  Senior Kristi Piepenbrink finished with a nine-over 153 to share third place at the six-team event hosted by St. Francis University at Brickyard Crossing over the weekend.

After a nice day Saturday, the teams battled rain all day Sunday.  UIndy handled the conditions relatively well with a round-two low score of 311.  Lindsey Wilson College had a great Saturday, however, to take the team title with a two-round score of 622.

LWC's Krista Burton (73-77) grabbed the individual crown, followed closely by teammate Jessica Smith (76-76).  Lindsey Wilson is the 12th-ranked team in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

Piepenbrink (76-77) notched her fifth top-three effort of the year Sunday, finishing three strokes back of the medalist's spot.  Junior Lyndsay McBride followed an 81 Saturday with a one-over 73 Sunday to earn the fifth place.  Junior Sarah Prascsak carded scores of 81 and 78 to finish in seventh.

Freshman Darin Pinnick (82-85) and junior Ashley Seaton (86-83) rounded out the team scoring for UIndy, while sophomore Allison Tyler shot 85 and 78 as an individual competitor, good for a share of ninth.

UIndy enters its championship stretch, starting with the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship Apr. 26-27.  The league's 11 teams travel to Marion, Ill. and Kokopelli Golf Course Sunday and Monday.  Click here to view the official tournament page.
