INDIANAPOLIS- The NCAA fields are set and both the UIndy men's and women's golf teams will be vying for the 2009 NCAA Division-II national championship, as both squads earned automatic bids as Great Lakes Valley Conference champions. The Greyhound men are headed to the Midwest/South Central Super Regional in Allendale, Mich. May 4-7, while the ladies are off to the East Regional in California, Pa. May 3-6.
On the men's side, 10 teams from the Midwest Region and 10 from the South Central Region converge on The Meadows Golf Club in the hopes of advancing to the national finals. The top five teams and top two individuals not with those teams from each super regional (regardless of region) will move on to the finals, held at Loomis Trail Golf Club in Blaine, Wash. May 19-22.
After taking last year's regional title, the UIndy men advanced to 2008 final and earned eighth place among the country's 20 best D-II squads. Individually, Justin Hueber and Seth Fair tied for 11th, just five strokes off the medalist's pace.

In the women's draw, the top three teams from the nine-team East Regional, along with the top two individuals not with those teams will advance to the championships. The women's finals will be held May 13-16 at Sycamore Springs Golf Club in Arlington, Ohio.
UIndy's women's team finished third at the 2008 East Regional, one spot shy of qualifying as a team, but then-sophomore Sarah Prascsak garnered a fourth-place finish individually to earn a spot in the national finals. Prascsak went on to share 15th place among the nation's best Division II golfers at the 2008 NCAA DII Women's Golf Championship.
