INDIANAPOLIS-  The women's tennis team fell in a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference matches this weekend to some of the region's top teams in Drury and Rockhurst.  The Panthers are second with the Hawks eighth in the first installment of the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Rankings, released earlier this week.

Alena Perez-Majul nearly outlasted her opponent at No. 4 singles, coming back from a 6-3 defeat in the first set to post a 7-5 win in set two.  Lindsey Castrodale needed an 11-9 win in the super tiebreaker to eventually win the match.  Aly Neidlinger won at No. 6 by default for Indianapolis.

In the Rockhurst match, Perez-Majul again rebounded from an opening set defeat to take the second set, this time 7-6 (3).  She then took the match by posting a 10-7 win in the super tiebreaker, helping UIndy to singles wins at each of the bottom half of the singles lineup.  Meghan Teunis won 6-2, 7-5 at No. 5 and Neidlinger generated a 6-1, 7-5 win at No. 6.  Ceciley Starkey and Kelsey Hartman outlasted Rockhurst's Lanaghen sisters for a 9-7 win at No. 3 doubles.

UIndy (8-8, 3-3 GLVC) squares-off with Northern Kentucky on Tuesday in Highland Heights, Ky.
