INDIANAPOLIS- The University of Indianapolis is proud to announce that 106 student-athletes have been named to their respective All-Academic Great Lakes Valley Conference teams, released Thursday by league officials. Student-athletes with a 3.30 cumulative grade point average in a league sport are eligible for the honor.
The Hounds' women's track & field team, after doing the same last year, accounted for the most by a single UIndy sport with 17. Head Coach Scott Fangman's group won both the GLVC Indoor and Outdoor meets this past season. The men's soccer team and track & field teams each boasted 11 honorees to post the most awards among UIndy male sports.
The women's track total and the five honorees from the UIndy men's tennis team accounted for the most of any league school in their respective sport.
UIndy's 106-person total ranks fourth among GLVC schools. Combined with its
36 All-Academic winners (football, swimming) from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), the Greyhounds can lay claim to 142 total all-conference accolades amongst its total student-athlete population.
A total of 1,122 student-athletes were named All-Academic GLVC combined. A complete list of the All-Academic GLVC teams can be found at GLVCsports.com.
