MEMPHIS, Tenn.-  The UIndy men's soccer team dueled host Christian Brothers to a 1-1 double-overtime tie in the season opener Friday night.  Bobby Adkins had the Greyhounds' lone tally, scoring in the first half.

Adkins got the Hounds on the board first with his first collegiate goal in the 22nd minute, beating Buc goalkeeper Harrison Cheatham for a 1-0 advantage.  That score would hold up through halftime until CBU got the equalizer early in the second half.

Under three minutes in the new frame, Andrew Ballard finished off a corner kick to knot the score at one-apiece.  The goal was the only shot that the Greyhounds allowed in that half, part of just seven total shots for the night.

Meanwhile, the UIndy offense churned-out 18 shots, including eight in the second 45 minutes alone, but could not garner another score.  The Hounds had three more shots on goal in the overtime periods combined, making Cheatham work to earn the tie.

Justin Roberts registered three saves for Indianapolis.

UIndy (0-0-1) will face Lambuth on Sunday at noon in Memphis at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex.

Notes:  CBU was fresh off an 11-0 pasting of Rust (Tenn.) a night prior, a match that saw all 11 goals scored in the first half ... the Bucs were picked to finish second in the Gulf South Conference's preseason poll.
