INDIANAPOLIS-  The Greyhound women's soccer team used three second-half goals to roll past visiting Northern Michigan, 4-1, Sunday afternoon at Key Stadium.  UIndy got goals from four different players in improving to 2-0-0 on the season.

Lauren Soza gave the Hounds the early advantage, scoring in the 17th minute.  The sophomore finished a ball from the far corner of the 18-yard box, beating the NMU keeper to her left.  Amanda Reese was credited with the assist and she would later score a goal to give her five points for the weekend.

Reese's tally was one of sheer effort.  After Shelby Spinelli served a ball in the midfield, Reese not only had to make up ground, but had to outmuscle a pair of Wildcat backs to get away a shot.  She was able to fire a ball low to the far post, finding the back of the net and giving the Hounds some insurance.

NMU (1-1-0) got on the board in the 70th minute when a long free kick from midfield bounced high in the air and over the outstretched hands of Greyhound keeper Shae Morris.  UIndy needed just 49 seconds to avenge the fluke goal as Briana Syverson tucked one inside the upper right 90 on a feed from Spinelli, who registered her third assist of the weekend.

Dana Rosswurm put the icing on the cake in the 88th minute, finishing after NMU failed to clear it.  Morris earned the win in net, stopping three shots for her second win.

UIndy (2-0-0) will travel to Tiffin Friday afternoon before returning home Sunday to open the Great Lakes Valley Conference slate with Missouri-St. Louis.

Notes:  UIndy's four goals were the most allowed by an NMU team since Sep. 24, 2006 (at Grand Valley State) ... The Greyhounds are 2-0 to start the season for the third time in the last four years.
