UIndy announces expanded webstream package

INDIANAPOLIS-  The University of Indianapolis department of athletics announced expanded coverage of Greyhounds sports through the Internet, a live feed from home events offered free of charge at the school's official website.  The coverage expands upon the 16 games already set for broadcast in conjunction with the department's television and webstream deal with HomeTown Sports Indiana.

All six home football games and five UIndy basketball games are already on the docket for distribution through HomeTown and UIndy webstream, but now fans can catch action from volleyball and soccer in the fall as well.  These extra games, produced in-house by UIndy athletics, will feature multiple cameras, play-by-play and color analysis as well as on-screen graphics for select Greyhound home games.  In addition, UIndy will be adding "Live Look-ins" for many home events which will offer fans a chance to see the playing field and listen to the public address announcer all offered for free at athletics.uindy.edu.  Those look-in games will be added throughout the season as well.

"We're excited to be able to bring more coverage to our teams and showcase our deserving student-athletes," UIndy Athletic Director Dr. Sue Willey said.  "We've already got a great foundation with the television package and this will allow us to strengthen our online presence and provide a service that few are doing for free at the Division II level."

The first added web stream games are big ones for their respective sports.  The UIndy volleyball team will battle arch-rival Lewis on Friday, Sep. 18 in a match that will have big implications as it is the only meeting between the schools this season.  Also that weekend is a soccer doubleheader with traditional-power Northern Kentucky on Sunday, Sep. 20.  The women's match will start at noon with the men to follow at 2:30 p.m.

Additional game coverage will be announced as the season progresses.  Check out the schedule here

"This expanded coverage is a huge addition for our programs along with our external approach for Greyhound Athletics," said Matt Donovan, Associate Director for Athletics for Development. "Clearly we have an excellent product, some oustanding student-athletes and a tremendous community and we believe this effort will certainly enhance Greyhound Athletics for everyone."

If you are interested in underwriting or sponsoring this endeavor for Greyhound athletics, we encourage you contact Donovan at 317-788-3359 or mdonovan@uindy.edu and join the partnership program.

"With this opportunity, we hope we can secure additional partners who will allow  us to showcase our outstanding athletes and enable the partners to be engaged in the UIndy community."
