SOMERS, Wis.- Thanks to a pair of sweep victories, University of Indianapolis head coach Jody Butera garnered her 300th career win Saturday at the Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational. Butera's Greyhounds defeated both Minnesota-Crookston and Northwest Missouri State in straight sets to push the 13th-ranked Greyhounds' record to a spotless 14-0 on the season.
MATCH 1
Saturday marked the second sweep Minnesota-Crookston (3-8) has suffered at the hands of the Greyhounds this year. After defeating the Golden Eagles at the Ferris State Invite on Aug. 29, UMC most certainly had some déjà vu in its 25-10, 26-24, 25-12 loss today.
UIndy's offensive attack was impressive as the Hounds finished with a collective .475 hitting percentage, led by
Hannah Kelzer's perfect individual percentage (10 K, 0 E, 10 TA). The sophomore middle also amassed four blocks.
Kristina Kerrigan and
Lyndsay Callahan finished with nine kills apiece,
Kyleigh Turner had 15 digs, and
Cheneta Morrison garnered 33 assists.
MATCH 2
The Greyhounds sustained their momentum through the night cap by taking three straight versus Northwest Missouri State (25-13, 25-20, 25-16). They again orchestrated an efficient offensive attack, evidenced by their .378 hitting percentage.
Four Hounds had eight kills, including Morrison, who added 33 assists, 13 digs and two blocks. Callahan had eight kills and nine digs, while
Courtney Anglemyer contributed eight kills and six total blocks.
Morrison and Callahan were each named to the all-tournament team
