OWENSBORO, Ky.- The Greyhound men's soccer team picked up their first Great Lakes Valley Conference victory of the season by downing Kentucky Wesleyan 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.

Freshman Bobby Adkins gave UIndy the early 1-0 lead scoring on a direct kick in the 6th minute of action.  The goal was Adkins' sixth of the season and his team-high 14th point.

Sophomore Micah Uemura pushed the Greyhound lead to 2-0 when his only shot of the contest was true in the 12th minute on an assist by junior Scott Gyllenborg.  The tally was Uemura's first of the 2009 season.

Kentucky Wesleyan (2-4-0, 0-3-0 GLVC) cut the lead in half on a Luke Church goal in the 36th minute that was assisted by Kyle Wood.  The goal would be the last of the half and bring the score to 2-1 in favor of Indianapolis through the first half of play.

Unlike the first 45 minutes, the second half yielded a single goal that came in the game's 83rd minute.  Gyllenborg scored unassisted to put the game away for UIndy and give them their first conference victory of the 2009 campaign.

Sophomore goalkeeper Justin Roberts stopped four Panther shots in goal in the Greyhound victory.

With the win, Indianapolis improved to 3-1-2 and 1-1-1 in GLVC matchups.  The Hounds will return to action on Friday evening at 7:30 PM when they host conference foe Bellarmine at Key Stadium.  The Knights stand at 3-1-1 and 1-1 in GLVC action with a recent 4-1 loss to Northern Kentucky.
