INDIANAPOLIS- After picking up its first loss of the season yesterday, the 9th-ranked University of Indianapolis volleyball team rebounded nicely with a sweep victory of visiting Wisconsin-Parkside Saturday.  Freshman Kristina Kerrigan set a new personal best with 17 kills in the match, leading the Greyhounds to the 25-18, 25-21, 25-20 win.

UIndy (15-1, 1-1 GLVC) fired six service aces at the Rangers, including back-to-back aces from Lyndsay Callahan early in the first set to help the Hounds build a five-point lead at 11-6.  UIndy led by as many as 10 in the frame on the way to the 25-18 win.

UW-Parkside (12-4, 0-2 GLVC) earned its first lead of the day by scoring the opening three points of the second.  UIndy quickly tied it four, marking the first of five ties in the set.  With the score knotted at 10-all, kills from Kerrigan and Hannah Kelzer preceded an ace from Courtney Anglemyer to give the Hounds a slight cushion.  UIndy remained ahead of the Rangers for the balance of the set to put Parkside in a 0-2 hole.

The final set was also a see-saw affair through much of the early going, but with the Hounds down 15-12, UIndy ran off a 6-0 run to seize the lead, one they would ultimately not relinquish.

Kerrigan compiled her match-high kill total on 34 swings while committing just two errors, good for a hefty .441 percentage.  Junior Cheneta Morrison amassed 37 assists and 13 digs, Anglemyer had seven kills and five block assists, and senior Kyleigh Turner recorded 22 digs.

UIndy will cross the Mississippi next weekend for its first away matches in conference play.  The Greyhounds visit Missouri-St. Louis Friday night at 8 p.m. EDT before a Saturday afternoon match at Missouri S&T.
