RENSSELAER, Ind. -- The Greyhound men's soccer team got back on track by earning a 2-0 victory over Great Lakes Valley Conference opponent St. Joseph's College on Sunday afternoon in Rensselaer.
Freshman
Roger Lee gave Indianapolis an early 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute when he finished a shot from 12 yards out for his fourth goal of the season. The goal would be the only one of the first half as the Greyhounds took a one goal advantage into the lockerroom.
Senior
Cory Barber put the game away at the 85 minute mark after finishing a pass from
Bobby Adkins from 18 yards out. Barber's goal was his first of the season and would be the game's final tally.
UIndy goalkeeper
Justin Roberts picked up his second shutout of the season while collecting three saves between the posts.
The Pumas (5-4-1, 3-3-1 GLVC) who were fresh off an upset of the nation's top-ranked team in Northern Kentucky, were limited to eight shots by the Indianapolis defense, with only three of them being on target.
The Greyhounds improve to 4-3-2 and 2-3-1 in conference play and will return to action on Friday when they travel to Wisconsin-Parkside to take on the Rangers at 4:15 PM.
