COLUMBUS, Ohio- The UIndy men's soccer team survived a late rally by host Ohio Dominican to earn a 2-1 win on Thursday night.  Freshman Bobby Adkins scored in the waning moments of the first half and provided an assist on a goal by fellow freshman Max Marsh earlier in the contest to improve the Hounds to 2-0-1 on the season.

Marsh connected for the first goal of his career as a Greyhound in the 37th minute off an assist by Adkins to give UIndy the early 1-0 advantage.

It looked as if the score would remain 1-0 after the first half of play, but just as the buzzer was about to sound, Adkins cracked a shot from 25 yards out that found the back of the net to give the Hounds a 2-0 lead at the half.  The goal, that would be the eventual game winner, marked the third for Adkins in his first three collegiate contests.

Ohio Dominican (2-1-0) controlled the ball for much of the first half, but could only muster a pair of shots on goal against the stout UIndy defense and sophomore keeper Justin Roberts.

The Panthers pushed the pace early in the second half, but the Greyhound defense stood firm until a cross from ODU's Justin Wheeler was played into the box and headed in by AJ Mueller in the 65th minute.

Ohio Dominican would get one last scoring chance late in the second half, but the shot from Wheeler sailed wide of the goal and UIndy would hand the Panthers their first loss of the season.

The Greyhounds put six shots on net while holding Ohio Dominican to just three as Roberts tallied a pair of saves in goal.

UIndy will open Great Lakes Valley Conference play when they host Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday at 6:00 PM.  The Tritons stand at 0-1-0 on the season following a 2-0 loss at Truman State on August 30.
