CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind.- The Greyhound cross country teams opened their season at the 48th annual Wabash Hokum Karem Saturday morning. The Hounds' teams each finished in second place at the meet.
In the men's race, UIndy was led by the tandem of
Michael Landy and
Josh Gornall, who finished in third as a duo. Ian O'Boyle and
Mark Martinez were right behind in fourth while
Kean Coy and
Andrew Piropato were 15th to round out the scoring.
Brandon McGloshen and
Jon Duty took 26th and
Josh Westfall and
Cody Parks were 27th. DePauw won the men's race with host Wabash and UIndy tying for runner-up honors.
On the women's side,
Kimberly Condra and
Stephanie Cave finished fourth with
Christie Nurkowski and
Katherine Wilhelm in fifth.
Lindsay Houvener and
Natalie Chamberlain were eighth for the Greyhounds for a 22-point team total, second only to winner DePauw, who had the top two duos in the race.
UIndy continues its season this Saturday, competing at Hanover College. The meet is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m.
