TEAM STANDINGS

WHEATON, Ill. - After the opening day of competition at the Pete Willson Wheaton Invitational, the UIndy wrestling team stands in ninth place with a team score of 38.  Wisconsin-Parkside leads the team standings after Friday's action with 101.5 points.

A pair of Greyhounds, Alex Johns at 125 and Lynn Panko at 285, remain in the championship brackets.  Three other UIndy grapplers, Ethan Harris at 133, David Lopez at 149, and Bryce Givens at 157 will start Saturday morning looking for placements as they try to make their way through the wrestlebacks.

Johns, who is the third seed in the 125-pound class, will open his day of competition against second-seeded Joe Norton from North Central.  Panko, the third seed at 285, will face second-seeded Mark Corsello of Elmhurst and look to advance into the championship bout in an effort to win his second individual championship this season.

Wrestling resumes tomorrow at 9:00 AM with championship and consolation matches scheduled to begin around 1:00 PM at King Arena.
