Two second-half scores lift UIndy over Flyers

Binder, Duncan tally Greyhound goals

Box Score
UIndy 2, Lewis 0

INDIANAPOLIS- The UIndy women's soccer team won it's second GLVC contest of the season, taking a 2-0 decision over visiting Lewis Flyers. With the win, the Greyhounds improve to 2-6-1, 2-4-1 in GLVC contests.

Neither team could find the net in the first 45 minutes, with Lewis having a solid chance in the 11th minute that marked the only real scoring opportunity of the first half.

Morgan Binder put UIndy on the board just after the 70-minute mark, scoring on a free kick from the far left side of the net. Binder put the ball into the top of the goal, just over the Lewis keeper.

The Greyhounds netted their second score just more than two minutes later, with Nicole Duncan tallying the second goal of her UIndy career. Duncan stayed with a ball in front of the Lewis net, and was able to score off of a mis-touch by the Flyer net-minder. Jennifer Rowe earned the assist on the play.

In all, UIndy led in shots, 10-5. The Flyers had the lead in corner kicks on the night, 5-3. Shae Morris recorded the clean sheet in the net, tallying one save on the night.

The Greyhounds face another tough GLVC foe Sunday, hosting Wisconsin-Parkside, the league's top-ranked team. The Rangers come into Sunday's match with a perfect 7-0 conference record.
