Volleyball earns sweep at Quincy

Box score

QUINCY, Ill.-  Thanks in part to a season-high-tying 15 kills from sophomore Kristina Kerrigan, the 19th-ranked UIndy volleyball team cruised past Quincy Friday night -- 25-13, 25-15, 25-15.  The Greyhounds (10-6, 3-2 GLVC) hit a solid .330 as a team on the way to the earning their first conference road win of the season.

Kerrigan's .467 hitting percentage set an out-right season high, as last year's Great Lakes Valley Conference Freshman of the Year killed 15 balls on 30 swings with just one error.

UIndy held Quincy (2-12, 0-5) to a Greyhound-opponent-season-low 43 combined points in the three sets.

All 14 Hounds saw the floor, with senior Lyndsay Callahan earning a team-high 15 digs.  Senior Cheneta Morrison had 30 assists and four aces, while Kenzie Bruggeman, Amy Oldenburg and Jaymee Reynolds combined for 23 digs.

UIndy travels to the University of Illinois-Springfield Saturday for a 4 p.m. match with the Prairie Stars.
