Rosswurm goal gives UIndy 3-2 2OT win

INDIANAPOLIS- The UIndy women's soccer team took a thrilling 3-2 double-overtime win against Rockhurst Sunday afternoon, with a score in the 102nd minute providing the Greyhound victory. The Greyhounds improve to 4-8-2 overall, 4-6-2 in conference play, with the win.

Rockhurst scored first, netting its goal in the 59th minute. Abby Davidson settled a corner kick at the top of the box and sent it down the middle, past UIndy keeper Shae Morris.

The Greyhounds got their first score in the 62nd minute, with Kaitlyn Braunig tallying her third goal of the year. Braunig got a great pass through the middle of the box from Lauren Soza, and finished it from less than 10 yards out into the net.

Soza provided the second UIndy goal just less than 10 minutes later, scoring on a ball from Nicole Duncan in the box. The goal was Soza's second of the year.

The Hawks knotted the score at 2-2 in the 87th minute, with Haley Long firing a ball through the left side of the box, just past the diving Morris.

Dana Rosswurm provided the UIndy game-winner one second before the 103-minute mark, taking a ball settled by Soza off of a Morgan Binder corner kick and putting it into the lower left corner of the net for the UIndy win.

Rockhurst out-shot UIndy 10-7 total, and took 10 corner kicks to the Greyhounds' four. Morris made four saves in the net on the day.

UIndy closes out regular-season play next weekend, traveling to Missouri-S&T and Maryville.
