No. 23 volleyball dominates Urbana

Box score

INDIANAPOLIS-  The 23rd-ranked UIndy volleyball team cruised to an in-region win Tuesday night, downing Urbana in three sets, 25-10, 25-11, 25-9.  The Greyhounds (19-7) made quick work of the visiting Blue Knights in the non-conference tilt, allowing a mere 30 combined points in just over 50 minutes of work.

The 30 points scored by Urbana (9-18) was easily the lowest allowed by the Greyhounds this season.  UIndy's team hitting percentage of .444 and its opponent's -.034 both represented season bests for Indianapolis.  The match featured zero lead changes and zero ties, as the Hounds led wire-to-wire.

UIndy's top three offensive performers on the night – Courtney Anglemyer, Kristina Hefferan and Kristina Kerrigan – combined for 32 kills and a .527 attack percentage.  Cheneta Morrison had 32 assists, Hannah Kelzer recorded four blocks and Lyndsay Callahan scooped 16 digs.

In a weekend full of NCAA implications, UIndy returns the GLVC play by hosting Rockhurst Friday night and Drury Saturday afternoon.  Both matches can be viewed free at www.ustream.tv/channel/Indianapolis-Greyhounds, with Friday's match featuring a three-camera, two-announcer production.

In addition, tonight's match is also available for viewing at the same link.
