Last-minute goal lifts UIndy over Quincy

QUINCY, Ill.- A goal with just 21 seconds left in the second overtime gave the UIndy men's soccer team a hard-fought 1-0 win over Quincy Friday evening. The win improves the Greyhounds to 6-5 overall, 6-4 in GLVC play.

After more than 109 minutes of soccer, Ryan Schmidt was able to find the back of the net on a breakaway. Schmidt took a ball from Max Marsh, and made the shot from 12 yards out to give the Greyhounds the win.

The scoresheet for the game read as almost mirror image for both teams. The shots were even at 16 each, while UIndy had seven shots on goal to the Hawks' six. Both keepers made six saves in the net for their respective teams.

UIndy held the edge in corner kicks, 7-3. Justin Roberts earned the win in goal, making his six saves over 109:39. Roberts faced 16 shots on the night.

The Greyhounds travel to Illinois-Springfield for another GLVC contest Sunday.
