Greyhounds fall 2-0 to Southern Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS- The UIndy women's soccer team allowed a pair of second-half goals from Southern Indiana, dropping the contest to the Screaming Eagles 2-0 Sunday afternoon at Key Stadium. The loss drops the Greyhounds to 0-3-1 on the season, 0-2-1 in GLVC play.

Nancy Newcomer scored both USI goals. The first goal was an unassisted shot into the upper right corner of the net from about 30 yards out in the 71st minute. Newcomer found the back of the net again about 12 minutes later, taking a ball from Meagan Kempf and scoring from the right side of the field into the upper left corner of the goal.

Morgan Binder tallied four total shots for UIndy, two on goal. The Greyhounds took a total of 11 shots in the game, while USI took 10.

Shae Morris suffered the loss in the net for UIndy, making five saves in her complete game effort.

The Greyhounds continue on in GLVC play next weekend, heading to Northern Kentucky Friday night and Bellarmine Sunday.
