INDIANAPOLIS- GLVC-West-leading Missouri S&T sank a last-second shot to escape Nicoson Hall with a 73-72 win against the UIndy women's basketball team Thursday night.  The Greyhounds' win streak was halted at two, while the Lady Miners' streak moved to a school-record 11.

Down a single point, the Lady Miners  (13-2, 7-0 GLVC) finagled the game's last possession with a chance to win.  S&T junior Julie Meyer all but sealed the Hounds' fate after she sank a 14-footer with 2.5 ticks left.  UIndy was forced to go the length of the floor, but Cayla Keegan's long in-bounds pass was stolen, allowing the Miners to extend their win streak.

The Miners came into the game allowing just 57 points per game, good for second in the league, but the teams combined for 90 points in the first half alone.  Both squads shot well over 50 percent through the first 20 minutes.

With the score knotted at 44 apiece late in the first, freshman Katy McIntosh (pictured) nailed a jumper as time expired to make it 46-44 UIndy at halftime.  Eight Hounds had at least three points at the break, led by McIntosh's 11.

The scoring barrage continued in the second half as the shooting percentages remained elevated.  The Miners managed to earn a six-point cushion at the 10:32 mark, but the Hounds came right back with an 8-2 run to tie it at 64.

The scoring finally slowed down the streak.  S&T led for a vast majority of the second half, but the Hounds finally overtook them with 2:27 left when a three-point play from McIntosh made it 70-69.  The Greyhounds maintained the slight edge until Meyer's heroics punctuated the contest.

McIntosh finished with a career-high 19 points to go with five rebounds and six assists.  Shelby Wall added 12 points and Heather Gonser chipped in 10.

UIndy (8-6, 3-3) heads to the Chicago area Saturday for a game versus the Lewis Flyers.  Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. EST.
