ROMEOVILLE, Ill.-  The UIndy women's basketball team (9-6, 4-3 GLVC) earned a hard-fought 68-60 win at Lewis (7-8, 3-4) Saturday night.  The Greyhounds matched a season high with 25 made free throws, including 10 in the final two minutes.

Freshman Katy McIntosh (pictured) notched the team's first double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

The game featured four ties and four lead changes in the first eight minutes alone, part of seven ties and eight lead changes in the first half.

Nine Greyhounds got in the scoring column in the see-saw first half, as UIndy took a 30-28 edge into the locker room.

UIndy opened the second half with a flurry to earn the game's first lead of more than four points.  The Greyhounds earned a 37-30 advantage just two minutes into the final period, thanks to a pair of quick lay-ups by McIntosh and a 3-pointer from junior Cayla Keegan.

The Greyhound lead touched nine, thanks partly to McIntosh's penetration.  The Austin, Ind., native scored eight points in first five minutes of the second half.

Indianapolis stayed in front for more than 13 consecutive minutes.  The string ended after Lewis ran off 10 unanswered points to take a 52-50 lead at the seven-minute mark.  LU senior Kelly Monaco hit a pair of 3-pointers during the run.

With 4:55 to go, UIndy sophomore Heather Gonser answered with a triple of her own, returning the lead to the Hounds.  The visitors managed to stay in front the rest of the way, as the Greyhounds iced the game at the foul line to hold off the Flyers for their fourth conference win.

McIntosh was one of three Greyhounds in double figures, as Keegan and senior Katie Lyons each had 12 points.  Lewis senior Carol Kruckman, who came in averaging eight points per game, led all scorers with 14.

The Hounds have a quick turnaround, as they play their third game in five days when they host division-rival Bellarmine Monday evening.  Tip time from Nicoson Hall is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
