QUINCY, Ill. -- Junior Adrian Moss scored a career-high 29 points with five rebounds, five assists and two steals to lead University of Indianapolis basketball to a Great Lakes Valley Conference victory, 81-72, at Quincy on Tuesday night in Pepsi Arena.

"I thought Adrian Moss was awesome tonight. He made really big plays and controlled the basketball," head coach Stan Gouard said on the WICR Post Game Show.

The Greyhounds (9-2, 2-1 GLVC) increased their winning streak to six in a row, while snapping the Hawks' (9-3, 2-2 GLVC) six-game winning streak.

Senior Darius Adams added 16 points and three assists, while junior Wilbur O'Neal finished with 14 points and six rebounds and senior DeWann Squires totaled 10 points and four rebounds. Freshman Daniel Daudu notched a career-high nine points, three rebounds and two assists.

The Hounds shot 60.7 percent (17-28) in the second half to finish at 55.8 percent (29-52) for the game. The Greyhounds also converted 14-of-15 free throws (.933) and 9-of-20 triples (.450).

"Three or four guys who can score the basketball makes us hard to prepare for and hard to guard," Gouard said. "We mixed it up on the perimeter and got the ball inside. It feels good to not have to rely on one guy to help us win."

Defensively, UIndy held Quincy to 41.7 percent (25-60) overall and 31.8 percent (7-22) behind the three-point line. The Hawks were forced into 15 turnovers that UIndy turned into a 24-13 advantage in points off turnovers.

The Hawks were led by Courtney Belger with 17 points, five rebounds and four assists and Tyler Burke added 15 points off the bench.

Leading by eight, 56-48, with 10:33 to play in the second half, the Greyhounds put together a 14-3 run over 3:43 to build their lead to 19, 70-51, with 6:32 remaining after a three-pointer by Adams and back-to-back triples by Moss.

The game didn't end without drama as within three minutes the Hawks were back within eight, 70-62, with 3:34 to go after a three-pointer by Andreas Coleman. Adams scored inside to push the lead back to 10, but Quincy closed its deficit to six, 72-66, with 1:21 to go.

Quincy had committed only three team fouls to that point and quickly committed four in a row to get UIndy into the bonus. The Hounds held off Quincy by making 9-of-10 free throws in the final 61 seconds to earn the win.

In the first half, neither team led by more than four points with four ties and 10 lead changes in the opening 20 minutes. Moss made a steal and went in for the lay-up to give UIndy the halftime lead, 31-30, but Quincy came back with a three-pointer on the first possession of the second half to regain the lead.

UIndy came back with a three-pointer by Squires to ignite a 17-4 run to take the lead to 11, 48-37, after a fast-break dunk by Squires off a steal by Moss with 15:27 left on the game clock.

The Greyhounds continue their stretch of four games in seven days when they return to Nicoson Hall on Thursday at 7:45 p.m. to play GLVC West leader Missouri-St. Louis (9-2, 4-0 GLVC).
