INDIANAPOLIS- On the eve of his 18th season as the head baseball coach at UIndy,
Gary Vaught will finally get his comeuppance Friday, January 27, as
Primo Banquet & Conference Center will host “The Roast of
Gary Vaught”, starting at 6:30 p.m. All proceeds will go to benefit Riley Hospital for Children.
According to Wikipedia, a roast is “an event in which an individual is subjected to a public presentation of comedic insults, praise, outlandish true and untrue stories, and heartwarming tributes.” Coach Vaught will no doubt receive plenty of each, as a host of friends, former players and umpires will be on hand to dish out the business to the longtime skipper. Former Vaught pupil Dammon Grother will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
Tickets are $25 per person, with the cost covering admission, dinner and a donation to Riley. Donations above to ticket cost will also be accepted. For advance tickets, please mail a list of attendees and a check by Jan. 15 to:
