Men's tennis falls to nationally-ranked Wayne State

The University of Indianapolis men's tennis team dropped a regional match to No. 38 Wayne State, 8-1, on Saturday evening at the UIndy Tennis Center.

The Warriors (2-0), ranked fifth in the Midwest Region, swept the doubles and took 5-of-6 singles to down the Greyhounds (4-2).

UIndy was led by Trevor Cox with a 4-6, 6-3, 1-0 (5) come-from-behind win over Alec Attala at No. 2 singles. The tandem of Caleb Fellers and Pete Wilson also nearly earned another point for UIndy before falling in a tiebreaker, 9-8 (3), at third singles.

The Greyhounds are off until Feb. 19 when they head to Greencastle, Ind., for a doubleheader against Dubuque and DePauw at 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
