The Greyhounds scored first, plating a single run in the bottom of the second. Cori Eckerle opened the inning with a walk, and took third on a throwing error by the Hawks' thirdbaseman on a sacrifice bunt attempt by Jessica Breeden. A homerun by the Hawks' Amanda Burger put Rockhurst on top 2-1 to start the eighth inning. The Hawk centerfielder took Greyhound pitcher Jennifer DeMotte's first pitch of the inning out over the right centerfield fence to give the visitors the lead.

DeMotte suffered the loss, falling to 9-4 on the year. She was also 2-for-4 at the plate to lead UIndy offensively.
