CHATHAM, Ill.- The 19th-ranked UIndy baseball team (13-1, 6-0 GLVC) remained undefeated in conference play with wins of 2-0 and 8-4 at Illinois-Springfield Saturday. Starting pitcher
Clint Seefeldt dominated the Prairie Stars for eight innings in game one.

Seefeldt (pictured) managed his best outing as a collegian Saturday, throwing eight shutout innings to move to 3-0 on the season. The sophomore hurler allowed just six hits on the day – all singles – while striking out six and walking two. Closer
Chris Saroff came in to pitch a perfect ninth and earn his fifth save of the year.
Offensively, both UIndy runs came from players who were first hit by a pitch.
Matt Maringer took one for the team in the fourth inning before stealing second and scoring on a single by Saroff.
Later,
Andrew Armour was struck by a pitch in the ninth and eventually came around on a
Brandon Stevens sac fly.

Ryan Hollenberg, the Hounds' game two starter, went just 2 2/3 innings after surrendering four runs to the home Prairie Stars (2-14, 0-6). He gave up two tallies in both the second and third innings, all coming with two out.
Hollenberg exited the third trailing 4-1, but the Greyhounds got him off the hook right away with three runs in the top of the fourth. The frame was highlighted by a two-run double from centerfielder
Ryan Wides.
UIndy broke open the seven-inning contest with a four-run sixth. A leadoff strikeout started the inning, but the next seven Greyhounds reached base safely before a 4-3 double play finally stopped the bleeding for UIS. Wides had a single and two stolen bases during the rally, while
Kaleb Cunningham had an RBI double and later scored on a bases-loaded walk by Maringer.
Though he never held a bat Saturday, pitcher
Matt Widick was just as instrumental in the comeback. He picked up his third relief win of the year after coming in for Hollenberg and tossing 4 1/3 scoreless frames to finish the game.
The Greyhounds remain in Illinois to face Quincy University for a twin bill Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. EDT.
