The Rangers scored on a wild pitch in the first inning to open the twin bill, but then
Clint Seefeldt shut them down the rest of the day to improve to 4-0. He allowed four hits, while striking out four and walking two for his first complete game of the season.
The Greyhounds evened the game in the bottom of the second when Stevens singled to left field to score
Alex Kiel. UIndy then took the lead in the third inning after back-to-back errors put runners at second and third. Kiel then singled to right to score
Kaleb Cunningham and put UIndy in the lead.
UWP came back to tie the score in the top of the fourth, 2-2, but UIndy answered in the bottom half behind the speed of
Ryan Wides. After being hit by a pitch, he stole second and then raced home when Scot Lawley beat out an infield single to short. The Greyhounds added an insurance run in the fifth when Stevens recorded his second RBI of the game to score Kiel for the second time.
Stevens was 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Kiel and Lawley also added two hits.

The Rangers started fast by leading 7-1 after their first two at-bats, but UIndy started its comeback in the bottom of the second with four runs. The Hounds loaded the bases with one out after two hit batters and one walk. Lawley singled to center to score the first run and then Cunningham lined out to left for a sacrifice fly. Two batters later,
Scott Mourey singled up the middle to plate two and pull UIndy within two, 7-5.
Nobody scored in the third, but UWP plated two in the top of the fourth to stretch its lead to four, 9-5. Kiel singled up the middle to score
Chris Saroff, while Mourey came around on an error in the bottom of the inning to half the lead. On the first pitch of the next at-bat, Stevens hammered a pitch over the wall in left to tie the game.
The Greyhounds didn't allow a run in the fifth to give themselves an opportunity to take the lead, 11-9, when
Derek Locascio blooped a hit to center to score
Andrew Armour and Saroff.
Armour added an RBI single in the sixth, while Cunningham and Spencer Smith scored on a wild pitch and walk with the bases loaded in the seventh to put UIndy up four, 14-10.
There was still drama in the ninth as the Rangers scored twice and had the tying run at the plate.
Donovan Drake was able to strike out Dave Lojeski, who had homered twice in the game, for the second out and induced a pop out to third by Kirk Haviland on a check swing to end the game.
JaVaun West (3-0) earned the win after coming on in the second inning to pitch 4.2 innings, while Jacob Chandler (0-2) took the loss after allowing seven runs in 3.1 innings.
