Softball puts four on Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-Region teams

STARKVILLE, Miss.- Four Greyhounds have earned 2011 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-Midwest Region honors, announced by the Association Thursday.

A pair of Greyhounds earned first team All-Midwest Region honors, with UIndy thirdbaseman Kelsey Rummel and pitcher/outfielder Jennifer DeMotte making the list.

UIndy also placed a pair of Greyhounds on the All-Region second team, with catcher Cori Eckerle and secondbaseman Jamie Keltz making that team.

In all 17 GLVC softball players made the two teams. UIndy was the lone team to place more than one player on the first team, and had the most honorees of any region team with four. Northern Kentucky placed three on the all-region squads.

The 2011 Louisville Slugger/NFCA All-American teams will be announced at the 2011 NCAA Banquet of Champions in the Community Ballroom of the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Va. on Wednesday night, May 25. The entire list of 2011 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-Americans, and its accompanying release, will be placed on NFCA.org later that evening.
