ST. LOUIS, Mo.- The Greyhound men's soccer team fired off 18 shots, with three of them finding the back of the net, in taking a 3-0 win in GLVC play at Maryville Friday.
UIndy (3-2-0, 2-1-0 GLVC) jumped on top of the host Saints early, with
Bobby Adkins tallying his first goal of the season in the 10th minute on an assist from
Ryan Barnett.
The Greyhounds held onto their 1-0 lead heading into the halftime break, and added a pair of goals in the second 45 to take the 3-0 win.
Roger Lee recorded his first score of the season in the 52nd minute for the Greyhounds' second goal. Barnett and Adkins reversed roles in the 74th minute, with Barnett scoring and Adkins dishing out the assist, for the final goal of the day.
Justin Roberts picked up his third shutout of the year in the win. Roberts made five saves in 90 minutes between the posts for the Greyhounds.
UIndy continues its St. Louis roadtrip, heading to face Missouri-St. Louis in GLVC action Sunday afternoon. Kick-off is slated for 2:30 CST.
NOTES: All eight of UIndy's goals thus far in 2011 have come from different scorers...the Greyhounds have yet to allow a goal in a win this season.
