EVANSVILLE, Ind.- Down 10 strokes heading into the final round, the UIndy women's golf team fired a program-record-tying 300 to capture the team title at the Screaming Eagle Golf Classic.

The sizeable field included 18 teams, including 12 in the Midwest region, and after rain and lightning forced Sunday's first round to spill over into Monday, the Drury Panthers finished the first 18 holes with a team score of 305 – 10 strokes clear of the field.   The margin wasn't large enough, however, as the Greyhounds shot a combined 12-over par in the second round to take the team crown by three shots.

The charge was led by senior Darin Pinnick.  The Washington, Ind., native leapfrogged from fifth to first with a second-round 71, good for the lowest score by a Greyhound since September of 2008.  The performance earned Pinnick her second-career medalist honor.

Two of her teammates also notched top-10 finishes, as sophomores Amy Thompson and Jenny Konop fired matching 75s in the second round to place third and seventh, respectively.

Freshman Jaclyn Schindler (80-79) tied for 16th for her second top-20 finish in as many events, and sophomore Brianna Scheidler (81-81) shared 21st place among the 95-golfer field.  Meanwhile, Regan Pittard (86-84) tied for 38th as an individual competitor.

The Hounds will encounter another region-heavy field next weekend when they travel to Waterloo. Ill., and Annbriar Golf Course for the Midwest Shootout Sept. 24-25.  UIndy is the defending champion in the event and has won three of the last four tournaments it has competed in at Annbriar.
