Greyhounds fall 3-1 at Ohio Dominican in season opener

COLUMBUS, Ohio- Four goals in the second half of UIndy men's soccer's season-opener at Ohio Dominican decided the game, with the Greyhounds falling 3-1 to the Panthers.

After a scoreless first half, Ohio Dominican put in a pair of goals in three minutes to take a 2-0 lead. The host Panthers tallied their first score in the 52nd minute, and scored again just less than three minutes later to go up 2-0.

Ohio Dominican made it 3-0 just after the 78-minute mark. UIndy answered back in the 84th minute with Micah Uemura's first goal of the season. Uemura took a ball from Ryan Schmidt and headed it home to cut the Panther lead to two.

The teams each took 15 shots in the contest. Schmidt led UIndy with two of the Greyhounds' six shots on goal. Corey Nelson, Kevin Eggert, Uemura, Schmidt and Adam Frondorf each had two shots in the contest.

The Greyhounds take on non-conference Cedarville at Key Stadium Tuesday. Kick is slated for 7:30 p.m.
