WATERLOO, Ill.-Â The UIndy women's golf team cruised to a 23-shot win at the Midwest Shootout Sunday by besting the program's 18-hole and 36-hole team records.
The Greyhounds combined for a four-player score of 296 in the first round to top the old school record by four strokes -- a mark the team tied just last week. The ladies followed that with a 304 to secure their second team title in as many events.
Fresh off earning her second career medalist honor last week, senior
Darin Pinnick notched a runner-up finish Sunday that included an opening-round 69. After carding a 73 in round two, the Washington, Ind., native went on to set a new school mark with a 36-hole score of 142, one stroke back of medalist Kayla Eckelkamp of Maryville.
Including Pinnick, all five of UIndy's team competitors finished in the top 11. Sophomore
Brianna Scheidler set and matched a career low after carding back-to-back 74s to share third place, good for her highest-ever collegiate finish. Sophomore
Amy Thompson (77-80) notched her third straight top-10 finish of the season by tying for eighth at +13.
Sophomore
Jenny Konop (82-77) and freshman
Jaclyn Schindler (76-83) both finished at +15 to share 11th in the 71-woman field.
UIndy's individual competitors, freshmen

The Greyhounds head to Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., to take on some of Division II's best teams at the Nova Southeastern Shark Invitational Oct. 10-11.
