GLVC awards Moss Player of the Week honors

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced today that UIndy's Adrian Moss is the GLVC Men's Basketball Player of the Week. This is the second time this season that Moss has earned the weekly honor (week of Dec. 26).

Moss averaged 19.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.3 blocks per game to lead UIndy to a 3-0 week, including the first road sweep at Southern Indiana and Kentucky Wesleyan in school history.

Moss started the week as a distributor as he had 10 points, five rebounds, four assists and career-high three blocks for the 5-foot-9 guard in an 88-86 victory over in-state rival St. Joseph's.

Moss picked up his scoring on the road as he had a game-high 21 points and four steals for a road victory at No. 7 Southern Indiana, 59-56. After not winning in Evansville since 1982, Moss has now orchestrated back-to-back wins by the Greyhounds at USI. Moss was at his best in the second half with 15 of his 21 points, all three rebounds and three steals.

He finished the week by leading UIndy to its second victory this season against the No. 1 team in the country at top-ranked Kentucky Wesleyan, 80-77. Moss had a game-high 27 points, six assists and three rebounds, making 5-of-10 three-pointers and all eight free throws. Moss' three-point play with 1:58 remaining turned a one-point deficit into a two-point lead and then Moss had the game-winning assist with his cross court pass on Cody Vest's three-pointer at the buzzer.

The GLVC Player of the Year candidate leads the conference in steals (2.29 spg), while ranking second in both scoring (20.4 ppg) and assists (5.53 apg).

The Greyhounds (14-3, 7-2 GLVC) have won five in a row and nine of their last 10 games as they head to Lewis on Thursday and return to Nicoson Hall to play Wisconsin-Parkside on Saturday at 3:15 p.m. on Hall of Fame Weekend.
