On Tap:  The division-leading Greyhounds have a pair of road games on tap this week, starting with rival Northern Kentucky Thursday.  The Norse are 9-4 in GLVC play, one game back of UIndy.

About Northern Kentucky:  The Norse had a four-game winning streak snapped last Saturday, falling 56-54 at Wisconsin-Parkside, despite 18 points, seven rebounds and three blocks from NKU junior Ellen Holton.  The loss knocked the Norse out of a tie for the GLVC East lead.

NKU, who like UIndy is receiving votes in this week's WBCA poll, ranks first in the GLVC in scoring defense (50.6 ppg). The Norse have finished first or second in the stat each of the last six seasons*.

Senior forward Casse Mogan leads the team in scoring at 15.8 points per game.  She enters Thursday's contest with 1,414 career points, nine shy of moving into seventh place in the NKU record books.

*NKU ranked second in the GLVC in scoring defense in 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2009-10, finishing behind UIndy all three times.

Hounds vs. Norse:  Despite NKU owning a commanding 42-18 lead in the all-time series, Northern Kentucky vs. UIndy has become one of the GLVC's best rivalries in recent years.  The teams have split the last eight meetings, with the winning squad scoring more than 59 points in just three of the last nine match-ups.

The Hounds downed NKU, 55-44, at Nicoson Hall Dec. 3 in another classic defensive battle.  The Norse's point total marked a season low for a UIndy opponent and was the lowest total scored by an in-conference adversary since Kentucky Wesleyan mustered 42 points in February of 2010.

Getting Personal:  Thursday's game features two of the least foul-prone teams in the nation.  NKU tops Division II in fewest personal fouls committed per game at 12.7, while UIndy's 13.0 fouls per contest is good for third.

About Bellarmine:  The Knights are coming off an 0-2 week, dropping games at Wisconsin-Parkside and Lewis.  Heading into Thursday's game with Saint Joseph's, Bellarmine's 4-9 conference mark puts it in a tie with Missouri-St. Louis for the 10th spot overall in the GLVC.  Only 12 teams will qualify for the upcoming conference tourney.

The Knights rank second in the league and 10th in the nation in 3-point percentage (.368).  Three players average in double figures in points, led by junior Kylie Brady (13.7 ppg).  Senior Allison Matheis leads the GLVC in 3-pointers made per game (2.7).

Hounds vs. Knights:  Though it has won eight of the last 10 head-to-head meetings with Bellarmine, UIndy trails the all-time series with the Knights, 26-35. Saturday marks UIndy's 62nd meeting with BU, tied for the most games versus any one Greyhound opponent.  UIndy has also faced Southern Indiana and Saint Joseph's 62 times.

The Greyhounds opened conference play this season with a 71-59 home win versus Bellarmine Dec. 1.  UIndy sank 13 of 26 3-point attempts that day, with four Greyhounds hitting at least two.

Last Time Out:  UIndy went 2-0 last week, including a 72-53 win against Southern Indiana Saturday.  The win allowed the Hounds to keep pace with Wisconsin-Parkside in the GLVC East Division race.

GLVC Tournament Picture:  UIndy and the 19th-ranked Rangers enter the week with matching 10-3 records in conference play, good for a share of the GLVC East Division lead.  Northern Kentucky is looming at 9-4.

Meanwhile, Quincy and Drury also sport 10-3 league marks to share first in the West, one game better than Missouri S&T.

The top four teams from each division, along with four wild card teams will qualify for the 12-team GLVC Tournament.  The field will then be seeded from 1-12, with the winner of each division receiving the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds based on winning percentage.  The top four squads will earn first-round byes, while seeds five through eight will host first-round match-ups Feb. 26.

After a re-seeding, the quarterfinals, semifinals and final will be held at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield, Ill., Mar. 1-4.

Wortman's Comp:  Sophomore Eliza Wortman is coming off a big week, scoring a personal-best 12 points versus KWC Thursday and recording her first career double-double with 11 points and 11 boards versus USI two days later.

Wortman, who made her first start as a collegian Saturday, has scored in double figures in three straight games.  She's averaging 11.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per contest over that span, while also shooting a gaudy 68.4 percent from the floor.

Field of Dreams:  Counting conference games only, the Greyhounds top the GLVC in both field goal percentage (.456) and field goal percentage defense (.367).

UIndy's overall shooting percentage of .451 is good for 10th in the nation, while 15 of the Greyhounds' 21 opponents this year have shot worse than 38 percent from the floor.

Head Turner:  After failing the reach double figures for just the second time this season in the KWC game last Thursday, junior Kristin Turner responded with a 25-point outburst Saturday versus USI.  She heads into the week ranking first in GLVC and 20th in D-II in scoring average (18.5 ppg).

Turner is looking to become just the third Greyhound woman to top the GLVC in scoring, as Debbie Law (19.2 ppg, 1982-83) and Sam Meissel (19.2 ppg, 2009-10) previously finished on top.

Triple Streak:  Turner has made at least one 3-pointer in 25 consecutive games dating back to last season.  She ranks second in the GLVC by averaging 2.5 triples per game.

Hounds on TV:  Produced by HomeTown Television, the following games will be televised via tape-delay and air on WRTV 6.2 HTSN: Jan. 16 vs. St. Joseph's, Feb. 2 vs. Kentucky Wesleyan and Feb. 16 vs. Lewis.

Those games are also streamed live on hometownsportsindiana.com and the remainder of UIndy's home games will be available free on the Hounds' Ustream channel at ustream.tv/channel/Indianapolis-Greyhounds.

Hounds on Radio:  The Greyhounds are broadcast live on WICR 88.7 FM.  You can also catch the Greyhounds on the Internet via live streaming.  Get details at wicr.uindy.edu/audio.
