Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 KISSIMMEE, Fla.- #6 Greyhound softball, now the owner of the longest win-streak in program history, took its 13th and 14th straight victories to close out action at the Rebel Spring Games Thursday.

UIndy (18-1) picked up a 9-2 win over Northwood in its first game of the day, and took an 8-0 win over Adelphi in its final contest of the tournament. The 14 straight wins tops previous streaks of 13 by the 1990 and 2010 Greyhounds, while the 18-1 start is the second-best thus far in program history, as the 1990 UIndy team went 19-1 to start the season.

#6 UIndy 9, Northwood 2 UIndy took a narrow 1-0 lead with one run in the bottom of the second inning, with Alexa Alfaro scoring on a ball hit by Kelsey Rummel. The Timberwolves answered with a single run in the top of the third to tie the score 1-1.

The Greyhounds put up three runs in the bottom of the third to take the 4-1 lead. Casey Williamson doubled to left center to open the frame, and came home on a single by Jennifer DeMotte to left. Alfaro followed with another single, with Samantha Krcelich reaching on a fielder's choice.

Both Alfaro and Krcelich would come into to score, with Alfaro coming in on a passed ball and Krcelich scoring on an RBI single to right by Dakota Malayer.

One more run came across for UIndy in the fourth, with Taylor Russell coming across on an Alfaro double to left. Northwood added its final two runs in the top of the sixth, on three hits.

The Greyhounds closed out scoring with three runs in the bottom of the inning. Rummel opened the inning with a homer over the right center wall, with Taylor Russell following with a single to left. She would come around to score on a pinch-hit double by Katie Bingham, who would score on a double by Krcelich a couple of batters later.

Audrey Ernst took the win, improving to 6-0 on the season. The UIndy junior fanned five and walked two in the six-inning effort. Rummel and Alfaro each had three hits in the game, with Rummel tallying two RBIs.
 
#6 UIndy 8, Adelphi 0
The Greyhounds plated all eight of their runs in the top of the seventh inning en route to an 8-0 victory over Adelphi.

Three straight singles from Taylor Russell, Williamson and DeMotte opened the inning. Alfaro doubled to right center to score two, and Krcelich followed with a homer to left center to tack up another three for the Greyhounds.

The final three UIndy runs came off of a Williamson double to right field, scoring Taylor Russell, Rummel and Sydney Russell.

Williamson and Krcelich both had three RBIs in the win for the Greyhounds, while Taylor Russell, Williamson, DeMotte, Alfaro, Krcelich and Cori Eckerle all had a pair of hits for UIndy, which had 14 total in the victory.

DeMotte took the pitching win, striking out six and walking two in the shutout.

UIndy enters back into GLVC play this weekend, playing host to Lewis and Wisconsin-Parkside Saturday and Sunday. First pitch for both doubleheaders is slated for noon.
