INDIANAPOLIS- The #6 Greyhound softball squad took its league-leading 17th and 18th straight victories Sunday, with 5-0 and 10-1 wins over visting UW-Parkside in GLVC action. With the victories, UIndy holds the longest current win streak in Division II, at 18 games.

The Greyhounds (22-1, 10-0 GLVC) posted three runs in the bottom of the first inning to take an early 3-0 lead on the visting Rangers (1-21, 1-11 GLVC).
A single from
Kelsey Rummel opened the inning, with the Greyhound thirdbaseman stealing second as well. A double to left center from Williamson a couple of batters later plated Rummel, while Williamson would come around to score on a single by
Jennifer DeMotte.
Alexa Alfaro would score the third UIndy run, after reaching on a fielder's choice.
UIndy put up a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth to close out scoring, with both
Samantha Krcelich and
Briana Clark scoring. Krcelich reached on a single to centerfield, and came home on a walk issued to
Dakota Malayer, while Clark also singled and scored on an error by the Ranger catcher.
Rummel and
Cori Eckerle each had a pair of hits in game one for the Greyhounds, while DeMotte (15-1) earned the pitching victory. The UIndy junior tossed seven inning of shutout ball, striking out 11 en route to the win.

UIndy plated four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take the 4-0 advantage. A Clark double to center led off the frame, with Eckerle doubling her in a batter later.
The Greyhound backstop came in to score on a groundout to second by
Sydney Russell, with a Rummel singling down the left field line to plate Malayer, who walked. Rummel later scored on a wild pitch, after stealing second and advancing to third on a throwing error by the UWP catcher.
UW-Parkside put up its first run of the day in the top of the fifth inning, on a hit and a UIndy error.
UIndy put up three more tallies in the bottom of five, with Alfaro opening the inning with a single to right. Krcelich followed with a single, with both Greyhounds scoring on an Eckerle double to left. An RBI single to left center by Russell brought around Eckerle to push the score to 7-1 Greyhounds.
Eckerle ended the game walk-off style in the UIndy sixth, sending a three-run home run over the leftfield fence to run the score to 10-1 Greyhounds. The bomb scored Krcelich and Clark, who had doubled and singled, respectively, to get on base.
Both Rummel and Eckerle had three hits in four at bats in the nightcap, with Eckerle putting up a whopping six RBIs in the contest.
Audrey Ernst kept her pitching record perfect with the win. Ernst (7-0) gave up the lone unearned Ranger run, and struck out six in the victory.
The Greyhounds continue in GLVC action next weekend, heading to Bellarmine and Northern Kentucky for a pair of league doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday.
NOTES: The Greyhounds' current win streak (18) is the longest active streak in DII, with both Tampa and Stillman currently riding 16-game win streaks...the current win streak is the longest-ever by a UIndy team, surpassing the previous record of 13 (1990, 2010)...the Greyhounds are owners of a 10-game GLVC contest winning streak, the best GLVC streak in program history.
