INDIANAPOLIS-  The UIndy baseball team (10-7) hosted a pair of seven-inning, non-conference games Tuesday afternoon, routing in-region Kentucky State by finals of 8-1 and 18-5.

GAME 1
Both teams finished with six hits in game one despite the lopsided final score.  The Greyhounds took advantage of eight walks by the Kentucky State pitchers, as well as two hit batsman and two wild pitches.

UIndy had a pair of homers in the game;  in the fourth inning, junior Bryce Feller smacked a 0-1 offering over the left field wall for a three-run dinger, while senior Nate Koontz sent a 1-0 pitch the same way for a solo shot in the fifth.

In his first start of the season, sophomore pitcher Alex Wood earned the win by allowing just one run and five hits in five innings.  Sean Elliott and Chris Saroff each pitched a scoreless frame to finish the job.

GAME 2
KSU (4-14) jumped out to what seemed to be a substantial 5-0 lead after an inning and a half.  However, UIndy dropped a nine-run stink bomb on the Thorobreds' party in the bottom of the second, then went on to score nine more in the subsequent four innings for good measure.

Eleven Greyhounds stepped to the plate in the game-changing second, highlighted by a three-run double from Jake Hartley and a two-run tater from Tyler O'Daniel.

All five Thorobred runs were charged to UIndy starter Chad Moore, though just one was earned.  Moore was relieved by Elliott, who came on in the third for his second appearance of the day and faced the minimum for two frames to garner the win.  Senior lefty Ryan Hollenberg tossed three scoreless innings to get the save.

The Hounds host another non-conference, in-region opponent Thursday when Urbana comes to Greyhound Park for a single game at 3 p.m.

Notes: KSU scored first in both contests ... Hartley was the only Greyhound to play all 14 innings ... Hollenberg's save was the first recorded by a Greyhound this season.
